Last weekend 7 of our CPJ members took part in the Southend Virtual Half Marathon in some incredibly hot conditions, Mike Hopkins came in at 2:05 with Andy Debnam at 2:14:39 and Scarlett Piercey at 2:18. Karen Batt & Joanne Reeves ran together clocking 2:53:50 and Karen Avison 2:56:25, Clive Dunnico walked and ran the route finishing at 4:13:42 well done everyone.
With very little races taking place at the moment trail running through Essex Trail Events has proved to be popular here are the results for the "Stagger Home" and "Castle Trail 2"

With parkruns still unable to open and many local authorities not yet giving the green light for them to go ahead one member of Castle Point Joggers Rick Wade decided he could wait any longer and decided on Tuesday he would set himself the challenge of doing 5 local park runs on the SAME day! He started off at 7am and completed the Hadleigh Parkrun route then drove to Basildon Parkrun followed by Billericay,Hockley and finishing off at Chalkwell and back home just in time for lunch! Rick said, “Parkrun was supposed to start this weekend but as we all know it didn't due to the COVID restrictions so I thought I'd do one anyway. It was good fun so I then thought why not do another one? Then I got a bit carried away and went on a tour!”
