Yorkshire Marathon

This weekend saw Martin Howlett and Rachel Malerick take on the Yorkshire Marathon with a flatter route than expected considering that it was Yorkshire and completing the route in a great time of 3:27:43, Rachel and her son Matt completed the marathon in 5:28 having to walk the final 5 miles due to hamstrings, proving how tough these marathons can be even when you have trained so hard.

Oxford Half

Over in Oxfordshire Joanne Reeves and her husband Andy Debnam took on the Oxford Half advertised as running in the city of “dreaming spires” this event taking place like many for the first time in a while, Andy completed the course in 1:54 and Joanne at 2:53.

Chelmsford Half

Lone soldier Mike Hopkins headed out to Chelmsford on Sunday finishing in a time of 1:42 a great time but confessing that ,”I need to do more long runs!” but the stylish medal was certainly worth running for.

Last weekend saw Michelle Frogley and Joanne Barton travel down to Silverstone for a different sort of racing, a 10k around the iconic track with both ladies performing well, Joanne was first over the line at 1:13:44 , Rob Dunn had also planned the 10k but after issues with his back pulled out but still ended up taking part in the 5k race finishing this in 28 minutes

Another great race that was back in the Calendar this month was the Tiptree 10 miler , 5 CPJ’s travelled to north east Essex for this race Adam Hemsworth, Colin Dunn, Justin Burton, Tina Burton and Laura Hemsworth braced themselves for the county air with almost everyone achieving PB’s with Adam getting first over the line in 1:02:19 and finishing in 6th place overall!
