CPJ took part in the Galleywood Gallop this week as part of Essex Trail Events a narrative cross country event following instructions on a piece of paper, this type of run is not always as simple as it sounds one wrong turn and you can end up in a real muddle and loose serious time and add extra mileage , first back on this 6 mile run was Andy Debnam at 55:21 followed by John Sweeney and Cliff Kind coming in joint 55:23, there were also ladies out on route with Karen Sweeney and Joanne Barton coming in together at 1:18:34 and Beverley Newman 1:24:45

CPJ launched its new sports T shirt this week to coincide with the Captains Challenge, the new shirts are available to all members for a heavily subsidised price of £2.50 once they have completed the challenge, they are a completely new design sporting the now familiar castle logo with the moto of the club printed on the back  they are also in white for the first time since 1990’s 

 

The Captain’s Challenge got underway this weekend with over 120 members taking part in a 5k course over 7 days with Girls taking on the Boys. Turn out on bank holiday Monday was fantastic with members dressed from everything from Spiderman to Zippy, George and Bungle
