This weekend saw our beginner group who have been involved in the 0-5 k finish the course in style by taking part in the Chalkwell parkrun, 12 members took part with everyone of them getting over the finishing line. The course was created by CPJ chairman Ian Hart and assisted by Gary Clifford, Nick and Val McCallagh and Beveley Newman, the hope is that many of them will now join the main club and enjoy running with us each week especially as we head into the winter season.
Tracey Bradley took part in the Windsor Half Marathon on Sunday this exciting run takes in many landmarks along the way finishing at Windsor Castle, Tracey completed the route in 1:54:06 so congratulations to her!
"I see no ships" was the title of Essex Trail Events latest 8 and 5 mile narrative route, these trail routes have become a real favourite for John and Karen Sweeney, who take part most weekends. This week John Sweeney romped home in 3rd place on the 8 mile route after a close call ending with the top 3 runners from Springfield with an impressive time of 1:03 :02 with Karen getting to the finish line in 1:29:14. In the 5 mile route Cliff King came in at 1:02:04 Joanne Barton 1:02:23 and David Spain who earlier in the year suffered a bad knee injury which resulted in an operation finished in 1:17:58
And Finally meet the man from the brew this Tuesday as the full club night returns at 7pm for a & 7:15pm run with refreshments afterwards and chance to have a bit of social time with members of the club!
